Position Overview

This is a position for an experienced hands-on Executive Housekeeper/House Manager who wishes to join a team in a sophisticated but informal household. This position is best suited for someone is an experienced confident individual and enjoys a busy environment. Other staff in the home include a full time Property Manager, a Chef, a part time cleaner, and additional housekeepers.

The ideal candidate will be someone seeking a long-term, full-time position. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 9:30am – 6:30pm. Flexibility for dinner parties and some weekends are required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Regular daily housekeeping of kitchens (2), washrooms and master suite
  • Assisting with the upkeep of outdoor spaces in season
  • Back up to the management of a fine wardrobe
  • Some household laundry (shared with the housekeepers) . Sheets are done in house
  • Door management being mindful of security
  • Management of basic trades and services (the Property Manager does most of this, but some is required of this position)
  • Receiving and sending parcels
  • Weekly cleaning of some areas of the house (the cleaner does the others)
  • Regular morning and end of day detailing of the home. Maintaining light levels as appropriate
  • Evening turndown of the master suite
  • Following a basic monthly household maintenance schedule
  • Cleaning and organization of closets, drawers and cupboards
  • Assisting the Chef with all entertaining in the home. Comfortable with table setting and front of house service (back up or small parties)
  • Seasonal deep cleaning and special projects as required
  • Taking care of the household china and silver
  • Conducting household inventories as required
  • Running household errands as required
  • Other related or non-related duties as needed

The Successful Applicant:

  • Is service-oriented, discrete, and respectful
  • Is able to be a leader for the housekeeping staff
  • Is confident and appropriately assertive
  • Is comfortable with maintaining a fine wardrobe
  • Has an excellent eye for details and a fine hand
  • Is comfortable with basic computer skills
  • Has experience in a formal home with entertaining, table setting and basic service in particular
  • Is quick on their feet with an excellent work ethic and time-management skills
  • Is a confident individual who is able to think for themselves and work independently
  • Is willing to pitch in under any circumstances, regardless of the task
  • Has a genuine commitment to professional housekeeping
  • Has a valid Ontario driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Has excellent mastery of the English language
  • Has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Is legally entitled to work in Canada

Compensation; Up to $1200 Net Weekly Salary + Health Benefits
